1. Quality
One of the biggest drivers of the premium price of wedding blooms is the quality of flowers used in the designs. The most popular styles and photos feature premium flowers like roses, peonies, sweat pea and butterfly ranunculus. These flowers cost 8-10 times more than your typical red rose or spray mum. It’s kinda like buying the fancy sourdough bread for a dinner party rather than opting for Wonder Bread.
2. Complexity
Things like floral archways, ceremony meadows, hanging installations and flower walls require a lot of time and energy in the set-up and installation. To complicate things more, many venues have specific requirements in terms of logistics and timing that the florist needs to take into consideration. Don’t hesitate to ask your florist what needs to go on behind the scenes so you can feel empowered in your planning process.
3. Abundance
The reason wedding flowers are so memorable is because of the abundance of flowers. Typically a wedding bouquet includes 30-40 stems. Your average $100 gift bouquet only includes 10-15 stems. That stem count is part of the reason wedding flowers are so memorable. How often are you gonna walk down the street with 30-40 flowers premium, perfectly placed flowers in your hands…
